Director, Office of Public Affairs,
Wendy Burrell

Wendy Burrell is director of the ICE Office of Public Affairs.  As director, Burrell is responsible for internal and external communications for the 16,000-plus-employee agency. She brings to the position nearly 20 years of public affairs experience, first with Philip Morris International and later with Henderson Associates, a consulting firm.

While at Philip Morris International, Ms. Burrell oversaw the global public affairs and communications function. She initiated several new programs, including an issues management capability and a worldwide training program.For Henderson Associates, Ms. Burrell provided management consulting services and international public affairs advice for a variety of clients.

Ms. Burrell has extensive experience in all aspects of public affairs including media and stakeholder relations, issues management, crisis management, internal communications and organizational branding.

She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and an AB in economics from Dartmouth College, where she graduated magna cum laude
