For all positions, except Special Agents, ICE uses an automated, online application system. The vacancy announcement will link directly to these systems and guide the applicant through the process.
Search www.usajobs.gov for existing ICE vacancies. Then carefully read and evaluate the vacancy announcement for the position you select to determine duties, location, closing date (for application process), qualifications, required experience, conditions of employment and eligibility requirements. Some positions are open to the general public and others are open only to current government employees.
If you are interested in a job and believe you meet the requirements, follow the instructions on the announcement and apply for the job using the online system.
Students and recent graduates can search for intern, Presidential Management Fellows and recent graduate positions, as well as learn how to apply at the ICE Pathways Programs website.
Applicants who meet the required qualifications and score high enough in the competitive evaluation process will be contacted for interviews.
Depending on the position, the hiring process will generally take two-to-four months because of the evaluation process and the required background investigation. Some law enforcement positions may take considerably longer to fill because of the existing pipeline of qualified applicants and the more extensive security check.
