OIA Investigative and Enforcement Priorities
ICE OIA works with the ICE Office of Investigations, Office of Detention and Removal Operations, Office of Intelligence, and other law enforcement partners to conduct and coordinate investigative and enforcement efforts on criminal and civil violations including:
- Alien Smuggling and human trafficking;
- Document fraud;
- Child pornography, sex tourism and child exploitation;
- Illegal export or diversion of controlled U.S. technology, conventional weapons and military equipment;
- Illegal import/export of cultural property and other items;
- Trade fraud violations including intellectual property crime, tobacco smuggling, force child labor (read ICE's advisory brochure on forced child labor) and other traditional customs fraud schemes;
- Contraband smuggling (imported and exported merchandise); and
- Money laundering violations, including bulk cash smuggling and traditional money laundering.
