2 New Jersey men arrested on cocaine charges

NEWARK, N.J. — An investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Lakewood Police Department has resulted in the arrests of two men for possession of cocaine.

Perla Gabriel-Sanchez, 29, and Alejandro Camacho-Perez, 33, both of Lakewood, were arrested Thursday for possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Both individuals face New Jersey state charges.

According to court documents, law enforcement seized more than 150 grams of cocaine. In an attempt to avoid detection by law enforcement, the seized cocaine was secreted in a large piece of hollowed out quartz rock.

Gabriel-Sanchez and Camacho-Perez are both detained on a $250,000 bond.

The charges and allegations contained are merely accusations, and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
