Florida man sentenced in false identification documents case

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A Florida man was sentenced to time served – eight months – Wednesday for assisting his father with providing false identification documents to illegal aliens. The sentence is the result of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Daniel Jimenez, 25, of Fort Meyers, Fla., assisted his father, German Jimenez, with the federal crime. German Jimenez sold fake green cards – lawful permanent resident cards – along with Social Security cards and driver's licenses to illegal aliens. Daniel Jimenez assisted his father with mailing out those documents.  

Sentencing for German Jimenez is scheduled for Feb. 15.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti, Western District of New York, prosecuted this case on behalf of the U.S. government.
