Jan. 7, 2014 – 106 defendants indicted in Social Security disability fraud costing federal taxpayers hundreds of millions

Following an extensive investigation by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies – including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) – the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office indicted 106 defendants for massive fraud against the federal Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits (SDDI) program that resulted in the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars from federal taxpayers. Jan. 8, 2014 – Ukraine-based hardcore child pornography website founder pleads guilty

A Ukrainian man who founded and ran an international, hardcore child sexual abuse website pleaded guilty to running a child exploitation enterprise Wednesday and agreed to a 30-year prison term. The guilty plea resulted from an investigation by ICE’s HSI. Full Story

Jan. 8, 2014 – Ga. man sentenced for illegal shipment of industrial machines to Iran

A Georgia man was sentenced to 18 months in prison Monday for conspiring to send water-jet cutting machines to Iran in violation of the U.S. trade embargo. The sentencing follows a joint investigation by ICE’s HSI and the U.S. Department of Commerce's Office of Export Enforcement. Full Story

Jan. 10, 2014 – El Paso convicted predator arrested again on child pornography charges
