June 8, 2012 – HSI arrests 190 child predators, rescues 18 victims during Operation Orion

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents arrested 190 individuals and identified and rescued 18 victims during a month-long, nationwide operation targeting individuals who possessed, received, transported, distributed, advertised or produced images or videos of child pornography. June 8, 2012 – HSI, Caribbean Corridor Strike Force seize 330 kilograms of cocaine, arrest 6

Following an HSI-led investigation, officers and special agents assigned to the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force arrested six Dominican Republic nationals on drug trafficking charges earlier this week. The individuals tried to introduce 330 kilograms and one kilogram of heroin with an estimated street value of $8 million into the United States. Full Story

June 7, 2012 – ICE arrests 44 during 5-day operation targeting criminal aliens, immigration fugitives in Chicago area

ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations teams in Chicago arrested 44 convicted criminal aliens, immigration fugitives and immigration violators during a five-day operation that focused on the greater Chicago area. Thirty-four of those arrested had prior convictions for crimes such as weapons possession, domestic battery, aggravated drunken driving, arson, drugs and burglary. Full Story

June 6, 2012 – Houston jury convicts alien smuggler of hostage taking

A Honduran man was convicted Wednesday of four counts of hostage taking, one count of using a firearm during a crime of violence, and four counts of aiding and abetting harboring illegal aliens. The investigation was conducted by the Houston Police Department and HSI. Full Story

June 5, 2012 – ICE arrests 40 during 12-day student-visa enforcement operation in north Texas and Oklahoma

HSI special agents arrested 40 immigration status violators, visa overstays and foreign students for violating the conditions of their nonimmigrant visas during a 12-day operation focused on northern Texas and Oklahoma. Three of the arrested individuals also falsely claimed U.S. citizenship, which is a felony and results in being permanently barred from legally re-entering the United States. Full Story
