- As the leader of the alien smuggling operation, Antunez is believed to be directly involved in the smuggling of undocumented aliens into the United States for financial gain and compelling their labor under threats of harm and death. According to victim testimony, Antunez traveled to victims’ homes in Mexico to recruit and transport them. Antunez recruited victims by fraud and deceit. As soon as victims agreed to travel to the United States, Antunez began threatening and utilizing coercive measures to assure that the victims would not leave his custody and remain working and providing him with their income. Warrant for arrest from United States District Court Southern District of California includes a 19 count indictment.
