LONDON, Ky. — ICE special agents arrested a man May 4 who is wanted by Mexican authorities for raping a child in Mexico.

Alfredo Ramirez-Lagunes, 31, was identified by ICE agents at the Pulaski County Detention Center in Somerset, Ky., as part of the ICE Criminal Alien Program. Although he was using the alias of Paco Ruiz, the subject was positively identified as Alfredo Ramirez-Lagunes after extensive investigative work.

ICE agents were also able to establish that Ramirez-Lagunes had been previously deported under the alias of Marcos Ramirez. and was the same person who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by INTERPOL.

Since Operation Predator was launched in July 2003, ICE agents have arrested more than 5,500 individuals, including 11 in Kentucky.
