Leesburg Man Sentenced to 120 Months for Child Pornography and Firearms Offenses

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia - Ralph D. Davis, 46, of Leesburg, Virginia, was sentenced today to 120 months in prison for receiving child pornography via the internet, and for unlawfully possessing firearms and ammunition after having been convicted of multiple felonies. Chuck Rosenberg, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and William Reid, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), made the announcement following Davis's sentencing by United States District Judge T.S. Ellis, III. Davis also was sentenced to serve ten years of supervised release following the completion of his prison term. Davis will be required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction in which he lives, works or goes to school.

Over a period of five years, Davis used his personal credit card and home computer to subscribe to various commercial child pornography websites. Federal agents seized four computers and an external hard drive from Davis' Leesburg home that were found to contain over 25,000 still images and 400 videos of child pornography. Agents also recovered three semi-automatic handguns and ammunition from the kitchen and living room of Davis' residence.

This investigation was conducted by ICE, with assistance from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force members from the Fairfax County Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Gerald J. Smagala and Edmund P. Power, and Special Assistant United States Attorney Edward McAndrew, who is on detail from the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Department of Justice.
