SEVIS II Requirements Feedback – Yahoo User Groups

All DSOs are invited to join a user group designed to provide feedback on SEVIS II requirements. The detailed requirements for that portion of SEVIS II functionality that deals with the functions uses to support P/DSOs are being determined May to August.

We have had two training workshops:

• A user training workshop with representatives from the schools and programs that helped develop some of the initial requirements for SEVIS II


• A batch users training workshop with representatives from all the schools and programs who currently have a batch interface with SEVIS I

As noted, we are also soliciting feedback during the NAFSA conference.

We have a small group of representatives from local schools and programs who meet with us once a month to offer advice and feed back.

Now we would like to offer more opportunity to participate. We have two Yahoo groups.

• Batch Users. This group is a way of disseminating information and a place for those interested in batch to discuss issues. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sevisiibatch/ and ask for permission to join. Please indicate your school or program and your role. Batch vendors are also welcome to join.


• Schools. This group is a way of participating in the on-going development of detailed requirements for the functionality supporting P/DSOs. Often there will be a question or poll. In many cases the deadline will be very short – because we have a lot of short deadlines – but if you have time, your opinion will be taken into consideration. While the SEVIS II team tries to be responsive to questions posed by the groups, sometimes we will be very involved in other activities related to SEVIS II and some questions may languish before being answered.
