A retired New Mexico teacher, Joseph F. Zinkiewicz, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possessing child pornography under a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of New Mexico. This case was investigated by ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) offices in Albuquerque and Greeley, Colo.

Shane Roach, 27, was arrested July 1, 2015, on a criminal complaint charging him with sex trafficking.  Roach subsequently was indicted and charged with using force, threats and coercion to force a victim to engage in commercial sex acts.

Stephanie Pyle was sentenced to 30 months in prison for her conviction on the fraud charge, and 24 months in prison for her conviction on an aggravated identity theft charge. Since identity theft sentences must be served consecutively to sentences on other convictions, Pyle’s total sentence is 54 months in federal prison.

Miguel Rangel Arce, 36, and Rogelio Santiago Quiroa-Valdez, 25, were among eight San Juan (New Mexico) County residents charged with federal narcotics trafficking offenses. Their co-defendant, Luis Rangel Arce, 44, also a Mexican national, pleaded guilty plea in this case the previous week.

Upon learning of Jose Antonio’s condition in 2012, staff at the HSI Albuquerque Assistant Special Agent in Charge Office began facilitating the humanitarian parole needed for both Jose and his parents to lawfully enter the United States. Since then, they’ve closely monitored his case and status to ensure he received the necessary medical treatment for his condition.
