Jean Claud Mills, 32, was arrested May 16, 2014, on a criminal complaint charging him with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and using and carrying a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Mills subsequently was indicted on those same charges June 11, 2014.

John Jaramillo, 44, of Albuquerque, was arrested April 24 by HSI special agents on a criminal complaint charging him with receiving and possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

John W. Vandermeer, a New Mexico man who had been convicted of child rape in Massachusetts in the 1980s, was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison for receiving child pornography.

Joseph F. Zinkiewicz, 76, from Raton, N.M., was arrested April 2012 on a criminal complaint and charged with distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography in Colfax County, N.M., between October 2011 and April 2012. He has been in federal custody since that time.

Massiel Segoviano-Fierro and his co-defendant Juan Carlos Nieblas-Ruelas, 28, also a Mexican national illegally residing in the United States, were arrested in November 2015.  Both were charged Nov. 23, 2015, by criminal complaint with conspiracy and possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

A Santa Fe used-car business owner pleaded guilty Aug. 12 to federal currency-structuring offenses under a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office. The owner has agreed to forfeit more than $500,000 and 10 vehicles. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents investigated this case.

Casey Lamotte, 30, of Flora Vista, New Mexico, was sentenced June 29 to 75 months in prison, which is to be followed by two years of supervised release. Lamotte was one of 29 individuals charged with drug trafficking offenses following a multi-agency investigation targeting drug trafficking in northwestern New Mexico.

Ernesto Felix, of Sinaloa, Mexico, is one of 29 individuals who were charged in February 2014 with drug trafficking offenses following a multi-agency investigation targeting drug trafficking in northwestern New Mexico. The investigation culminated Feb. 26, 2014 when 26 of the defendants were arrested during a law enforcement operation led by HSI and the HIDTA Region II Narcotics Task Force.

Juan Carlos Hernandez, 44, of El Paso, Texas, faces 10 years in federal prison, according to the terms of his plea agreement. His prison sentence is to be followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court. Hernandez also will be required to register as a sex offender.

Stephanie Pyle was sentenced to 30 months in prison for her conviction on the fraud charge, and 24 months in prison for her conviction on an aggravated identity theft charge. Since identity theft sentences must be served consecutively to sentences on other convictions, Pyle’s total sentence is 54 months in federal prison.

Since then, they’ve closely monitored his case and status to ensure he received the necessary medical treatment for his condition.
