During a search for evidence, Ruger is led by his handler and uses his sense of smell to locate electronic devices. He ‘indicates’ he has found something by sitting down. Amazingly, he is able to find the exact location of electronic equipment. He is also able to indicate where equipment was previously. He is awarded with his favorite treat: a yellow tennis ball.

Samuel Velasco Gurrola, 41, was convicted on three counts of conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country and four counts of conspiracy to cause foreign travel for murder for hire. According to evidence presented during trial, in 2008, Velasco Gurrola was married to Ruth Sagredo Escobedo.

HSI Flagstaff’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) consists of more than 66,000 square miles, covering most of Northern Arizona. Like many smaller field offices, HSI Flagstaff’s large AOR requires its agents to do hours of driving when conducting various investigations. Many of those trips are collaborative efforts with the office’s state and local partners.
