Steven Sadler, 40, of Bellevue, now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 40 years in prison because of the volume of drugs he sold. According to the plea agreement, Sadler admitted he began selling drugs on the Silk Road website in 2012 under the screen name "NOD." The site was well-known by criminals as a source for multiple types of contraband. He took his orders online and shipped his illicit products through the U.S. mail. According to investigators, Sadler was one of the top-ranked sellers on the site.

The federal agencies combined efforts to arrest Luis Venancio Cueto-Ruiz, Leonardo Mateo Cueto-Ruiz, and Gilberto Ulloa-Aguirre Dec. 14 in Everett following a probe into their drug trafficking organization, which is believed to be linked to the Sinaloa Cartel. Bail is set at $250,000 each for the three defendants.

In March 2019, Qifeng Li, 41, Xiamin Huang, 39 and Qiwei Li, 45, pleaded guilty and admitted that they used money from conspirators in the Peoples Republic of China to purchase homes in the Puget Sound area.

During the course of an ongoing drug smuggling investigation, HSI Douglas special agents developed information about a possible drug stash house located in Whetstone, Arizona. Agents initiated surveillance on the property and observed a pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer pull up to the house. Subsequently, several individuals were seen loading it with bales of marijuana. Agents then alerted Sierra Vista police.
