Marcelo Alves-Ferreira, 39, is charged with homicide in a warrant issued in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The warrant alleges Alves was responsible for the May 22, 2005, murder of Jhonatan Alves Braganca in Sao Jose de Safira.

Aftab Ali Khan, 28, a Pakistani man arrested in Massachusetts during the investigation into the failed Times Square bombing, was deported by U.S. ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) to Pakistan. Khan had been in federal custody since May 2010 when he, his uncle, and a man in Maine were arrested following the failed bombing attempt.

Shelley M. Richmond Joseph, 51, of Natick, who was appointed as a Massachusetts District Court Judge in November 2017, and Wesley MacGregor, 56, of Watertown, a former Trial Court Officer since 1993, were indicted on one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice and two counts of obstruction of justice – aiding and abetting. MacGregor was also charged with one count of perjury.

Dorviro Rocha-Ribeiro, 47, a citizen and national of Brazil who was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice for murder, was removed from the United States by officers with ICE's ERO to Brazil via Boston Logan International Airport and Miami International Airport on July 10.

Evandro Sergio Pais Franca, of Brazil, was convicted in absentia Nov. 5, 2012, after being found guilty of hiring a hitman to kill Maria Aprecida Vieira, the mayor of Nacip Raydan, Brazil. According to court documents, Franca ordered the assassination of Vieira April 5, 2000.

Of those arrested, 22 were convicted criminals, 10 had criminal charges pending, 27 had been issued a final order of removal and failed to depart the United States, and 2 had been previously removed from the United States.
