Juan Saravia-Salamanca, an unlawfully present Salvadoran national, was located and arrested by an ICE ERO Fugitive Operations Team outside his Raleigh, N.C., residence Dec. 12, 2017, after the government of El Salvador informed ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) National Gang Unit Nov. 21, 2017, that it had issued a warrant for Mr. Saravia-Salamanca’s arrest.

A Salvadoran man, Jose Mauricio Huezo-Ortega, was returned to his native country earlier today by ICE's Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) to face charges for sexually assaulting five minor children, who were under his care at a children's home he managed.

Juan Macario Bautista-Martinez, 23, was transferred by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers to the custody of representatives from the Mexican Attorney General’s Office at the Brownsville, Texas, port of entry. Bautista-Martinez is charged in an arrest warrant issued in 2012 with a double homicide committed in Oaxaca, Mexico, in April 2010.

Carlos Ivan Rivas-Castro, 22, was removed to El Salvador Wednesday aboard a charter flight coordinated by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Air Operations Unit. Upon arrival, ERO officers turned the fugitive over to representatives from the Salvadoran national police and Interpol.

Pedro Juan Cruz-Cortez, 23, was flown to El Salvador July 31 on a charter flight coordinated by ICE Air Operations (IAO).  Upon arrival, ERO officers transferred Cruz-Cortez to officials from El Salvador’s Civilian National Police.

Consistent with the agency’s protocols, the appropriate state health and local law enforcement agencies have been notified about the death, as have the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General and the ICE Office of Professional Responsibility. Additionally, ICE has advised Panamanian consular representatives who have notified Mr. Jimenez’s next of kin.

The arrests, made from June 14 through June 18, were made in metropolitan Atlanta, in the Augusta area and in northwest Georgia. Of the 60 taken into custody by ERO, 17 met the agency’s highest priority level due to felony convictions or participation in a criminal street gang. An additional 43 arrestees met the second level of priorities for enforcement due to serious or multiple misdemeanor convictions.

Luis Alexander Zaldivar-Ramos, 23, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced to eight months in federal prison. Zaldivar-Ramos was previously convicted of a criminal felony and deported on two prior occasions. Julio Cesar Ontiveros-Tafolla, 30, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced to time served, which equated to five and half months. Ontiveros-Tafolla had previously been removed to Mexico three times and will now be deported for the fourth time.
