Aggravated felon indicted for illegal re-entry after deportation
PHILADELPHIA — An Ecuadorian national with multiple criminal convictions was indicted for illegal reentry after deportation following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).
Jose Francisco Bonite-Sibri, aka Jose Sibri aka Alex Sibri aka Carlos Padilla, 46, of Philadelphia, was charged May 1 with illegal reentry after deportation. If convicted, Bonite-Sibri faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison.
The indictment alleges that on or about March 3, Bonite-Sibri, a citizen of Ecuador, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about July 26, 2005.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alicia Friend in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
