Tablets at ICE Facilities

Overview

Many ICE detention facilities provide detained noncitizens with tablets that allow for a range of activities including, but not limited to, video visitation, messaging, law library research applications and entertainment applications. ICE has contracted with Talton to provide tablets at select detention facilities. In other locations contractors or county offices may provide separate tablet programming. ICE contracted tablet program: Talton

ICE has contracted with Talton to provide tablets at select ICE detention facilities. Talton tablets can be used to exchange non-confidential (monitored and recorded) messages with legal representatives and to conduct phone or video visits. Instructions for how to schedule or pay for a video visit can be found online.

Note: phone and video calls are monitored and recorded however, legal service providers can follow the instructions under Communicating with Your Client or Prospective Client to have their number programmed as unmonitored and unrecorded. Please contact the specific facility to inquire about tablet availability and call monitoring.

Tablet Legal Orientation Program Initiative

ICE, in collaboration with the Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review, has developed a Legal Orientation Program Request Form that allows detained noncitizens to sign up for LOP services, message directly with LOP service providers, and be directed to LOP resources via the tablets. The LOP Request Form is available in 19 different languages in addition to English and is available at ICE detention facilities.
