ICE: Making America safe again
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was born of the ashes of the Sept. 11 terror attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Those tragedies profoundly reshaped every aspect of American life. On this, the 24th anniversary of the attacks, we honor those who lost their lives, recognize law enforcement professionals’ and first responders’ heroic efforts and reflect on the service that day inspired.
Today, ICE protects the United States against domestic and foreign threats.
Stories of courage and resilience
Every American who lived through 9/11 has a story about where they were and what they were doing when they first heard of the terrorist attacks that day. Their stories illustrate how some ICE personnel remember that fateful day — and how it shaped their careers.
