On September 6, 2019, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department arrested unlawfully present Salvadoran national Jimy Alejandro MARINERO for felony possession of stolen firearm/pistol/gun and misdemeanor carrying concealed gun and booked him into the Mecklenburg County Detention Center (MCDC). These charges are currently pending in the District Court of North Carolina at Mecklenburg County.
On September 7, 2019, the Pacific Enforcement Response Center (PERC) lodged an ICE Detainer with the MCDC. On that same date, despite the presence of an ICE detainer, the MCDC released MARINERO. He remains at large.
