Erik Molinar-Gonzalez, 32, of Los Lunas, New Mexico, was arrested in September 2015 and charged by criminal complaint with heroin and methamphetamine trafficking offenses. According to the complaint, on Sept. 9, 2015, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers found a kilogram of heroin in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

David Krowner, 42, from Estancia, New Mexico, will be sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court, according to the terms of the plea agreement.

Tomas Bustamante-Machado, 51, will be deported after he completes his prison sentence. During a routine traffic stop Jan. 16 in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, he was arrested after New Mexico State Police found 1,286 grams, or 2.8 pounds, of heroin in the vehicle he was driving.

Miguel Rangel Arce, 36, and Rogelio Santiago Quiroa-Valdez, 25, were among eight San Juan (New Mexico) County residents charged with federal narcotics trafficking offenses. Their co-defendant, Luis Rangel Arce, 44, also a Mexican national, pleaded guilty plea in this case the previous week.

Massiel Segoviano-Fierro and his co-defendant Juan Carlos Nieblas-Ruelas, 28, also a Mexican national illegally residing in the United States, were arrested in November 2015.  Both were charged Nov. 23, 2015, by criminal complaint with conspiracy and possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

Jesse Bruner was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison following his guilty plea to trafficking of 10 bundles totaling 238.95 pounds of marijuana, which resulted from an investigation by special agents with ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Sean Joseph Peterson, of Louisville, Ky, who crash landed an aircraft carrying 424.8 lbs. of marijuana onto a New Mexico ranch, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 in federal court to drug trafficking charges. Special agents with U.S. ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) investigated the case.

Edwin Josue Torres, 24, of Sherman Oaks, California, was ordered detained pending trial. He was arrested Sept. 29, and was charged in a criminal complaint with methamphetamine trafficking after the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) seized about 38.25 lbs. of methamphetamine from him following a routine traffic stop.

Ricardo Avelar Valdez was sentenced Friday for attempting to smuggle several multi-thousand pound loads of marijuana from Mexico to Prince William County, following an investigation by ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). On Aug. 16, Valdez's co-defendant, Francisco Cirilio Vargas-Aquino, was sentenced to 87 months in prison for his role.
