The remaining two defendants of 36 accused in the Southern District of Texas of racketeering activities as part of their roles with the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas (ABT) have pleaded guilty, capping a six-year sweeping effort that led to 73 convictions across five federal districts and the decimation of the gang's leadership and violent members and associates.

On Dec. 11, James Randall Lee Ross, aka “Silver”, 45, became the latest defendant to be sentenced as a result of the investigation when he was ordered by U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, to serve 292 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Rene Mauricio Joya-Villata aka Rafael Antonio Joya-Saenz, 26, was arrested without incident Aug. 24 at his residence in League City (Texas). A cooperative lead provided by the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) program led to his arrest. He was immediately remanded to the custody of ICE in Houston pending his removal from the United States.

Pedro Cruz-Rodriquez, 19, a citizen and national of El Salvador, last entered the country illegally Nov. 2, 2016.  Cruz-Rodriquez is a suspect in the aggravated murder of Jaime Roberto Loza Garay and the aggravated kidnapping of four other men in El Salvador.

Michael Richard Lamphere, 56, Glen Ray Millican Jr., 41, both of Houston; and Rebecca Johnson Cropp, 46, of Dallas, were sentenced Thursday to serve respective terms of 240, 120 and 36 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Sim Lake. Earlier this week, William David Maynard, 44, Sammy Keith Shipman, 32, Chad Ray Folmsbee, 32, David Orlando Roberts, 36, Justin Christopher Northrup, 29, all of Houston; Tammy Melissa Wall, 45, of Otto, N.C.; and Benjamin Troy Johnson, 43, of Corpus Christi, were each sentenced to serve respective terms of 262, 188, 140, 135, 130, 72 and 36 months in federal prison.

On Friday, James Erik Sharron, 40, of Houston, and Steven Tobin Mullen, 45, of Dallas, were sentenced to respective terms of 72 and 156 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Sim Lake. On Nov. 13, Larry Max Bryan, 52, of Houston, and Terry Ross Blake, 56, of Corpus Christi, both high-ranking leaders of the ABT, were sentenced to 300 and 180 months in federal prison, respectively. Jamie Grant Loveall, 38, and Kelly Ray Elley, 37, both of Houston; and Ronald Lee Prince, 44, of Dallas, were also sentenced to respective terms of 390, 270 and 120 months in federal prison.

The indictment charges that on Feb. 28, 2007, Ramon Miguel Cerros-Cruz and Alexsi Lopez robbed a Hyattsville, Maryland brothel apartment, armed with knives, and using force and violence. During the robbery, they allegedly bound one of the employees, raped another employee and murdered a third person.

Eric Antonio Mejia-Ramos, aka “Flaco,” age 22, of Hyattsville, Maryland, was sentenced today to life in prison, for conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise known as La Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, including participating in a murder. On January 4, 2017, Luis Guzman-Ventura, a/k/a “Casper,” age 23, of Hyattsville was sentenced to 360 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, on the same charge.

Alexsi Lopez, 27, was convicted by a federal jury April 9, 2015. Lopez was associated with the MS-13 gang and knew his co-defendant, Ramon Miguel Cerros-Cruz through MS-13. Evidence showed that Lopez and Cerros-Cruz familiarized themselves with the location and operation of brothels in the Hyattsville-Langley Park area of Prince George’s County, then planned the robbery of a Hyattsville brothel apartment.
