On Oct. 24, 2019, ICE placed a detainer on Osmani Garces-Ortiz, 37, an illegal criminal alien from Cuba, while he was held in Arapahoe County Jail for possessing drugs, criminal trespassing and violating a protection order. In keeping with a recently enacted Colorado law, Arapahoe County Jail could not legally honor the ICE detainer and Garces was released on bond Oct. 28, 2019.

The majority of those arrested — 52 of the 75 — had criminal histories that included convictions for the following crimes: aggravated assault, assault, burglary of a vehicle, child abuse by injury, dangerous drugs, delivery of cocaine, fraud, driving under the influence (DUI), drug trafficking, felony marijuana possession, illegal entry, larceny, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless conduct with a firearm. Twenty four of those arrested had DUI convictions.

Wilson Lopez-Rodriguez, 32, aka Carlos Alberto Lopez-Rodriguez, was removed to Honduras after being driven from Dallas to Houston, Texas, April 27. From Houston, he was flown to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, by ICE Air Operations, and then turned over to Honduran officials the same day.

Dias Muratovich Kadyrbayev, 24, a citizen of Kazakhstan, was convicted June 2, 2015, of conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstruction of justice for removing and disposing of incriminatory items from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s dorm room. Tsarnaev was later convicted and sentenced to death for his role in the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three innocent bystanders, and subsequently two police officers.

Additionally, ICE is coordinating Mirimanian’s death notification to the Armenian Embassy, as well as to his next of kin.
