Ever Enrique Medina, a/k/a "Ever Enrique Andrade" and "Scorpion," 25, an El Salvadoran native living in Columbia, Md., was sentenced to 30 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge James K. Bredar.

Those arrested during the Nov. 7 enforcement actions include:  Houston residents Giovani Alecio, aka Whiteboy, 26, Victor Javiel Gonzalez, 29, Maria Angelica Moreno-Reyna, aka Patty, 51, Gabriela Gonzalez-Flores, aka Gabby, 46, Eddie Torres, aka Monterrey 38, Jose Luis Moreno, aka Lucky, 23, Gilberto Espinoza Garcia, 49, Hector Reyna, aka Pantera, 26, Jimmy Mejia Chavez, 33, and Grisel Salas, aka Cris, 34, from Donna, Texas; and Jose Ruben Palomo-Martinez, 48, from Mission, Texas. Those arrested in the Houston area made their initial appearances in federal court Nov. 8 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Johnson.

To tackle this growing problem in the Bahamas, ICE's Homeland Security Investigations' (HSI) National Gang Unit recently led a workshop to train officers with the Royal Bahamas Police Force's newest anti-gang unit.

Yester Ayala, 22, aka Freeway and Daddy Yankee, of Washington; Noe Machado-Erazo, 30 aka Gallo of Wheaton, Md.; and Jose Martinez-Amaya, 26, aka Crimen of Brentwood, Md., were each found guilty in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia.

The defendants, Davie Jimmy Mejia-Sensente, a/k/a “Crazy” or “Loco,” 31; Carlos Mejia- Quintanilla, a/k/a “Sleepy” or “Dormido,” 25; and Luis Amilar-Zanas, a/k/a “Trucha,” 35, previously pleaded guilty to killing Alexander Temaj-Castanon. The defendants, who mistook Temaj-Castanon for a rival gang member, fatally shot the victim at a bus stop in Daly City on June 21, 2010.

Carlos Garcia-Hernandez, 19, a citizen of Mexico, was turned over to Mexican officials on the Brownsville International Bridge at approximately 1:00 p.m. Monday. Garcia-Hernandez, a member of the "Houstone" street gang in Houston, Texas, was arrested December 11 after ICE received word that Mexican authorities were seeking him.

Jaime “Tweety” Balam, 27, a Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member from Mexico, was indicted in 2012 on murder and racketeering charges for his role in a shooting at a Daly City BART station. According to court documents, on Feb. 19, 2009, Balam was riding in a stolen car with other MS-13 members “hunting” for rival gang members.

Special agents with ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) - in close partnership with the Wisconsin police departments of Milwaukee, Greendale and Greenfield - arrested 14 men during an enforcement operation Monday. This is the latest local effort in an ongoing national HSI initiative to target foreign-born gang members.

Milton Contreras, Oscar Welman Espinoza-Merino and Jose Osmin Rubio were each sentenced in Brooklyn federal court following their convictions for the murder of a 19-year-old victim on Long Island in 2014. Contreras was sentenced to 27 years’ imprisonment, while Espinoza-Merino and Osmin Rubio were each sentenced to more than 24 years’ imprisonment. After serving their sentences, all three defendants will face deportation from the United States.

Jose Loza, 40, the lead defendant in a 2016 federal grand jury indictment charging 51 Canta Ranas members and associates, was convicted Thursday afternoon of 12 felonies. Canta Ranas is a multi-generational criminal enterprise engaged in murder, attempted murder, assault, extortion, money laundering, and drug distribution.

Dequan Deshawn Willard, 22, pleaded guilty in December 2016 to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Brothers, William Emmanuel Spence, 27, Jasmine Jamal Spence, 28, and Antonio Deon Ray Montgomery, 21, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base.
