The alleged leader of the Korean Night Breeders street gang in Fairfax County, Va., and another gang member have been indicted by a federal grand jury for using fear, violence and threats of violence to extort or attempt to extort various businesses in the Annandale area of Fairfax County.

A federal jury today convicted three members of La Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, on racketeering and murder charges. Jorge Enrique Moreno-Aguilar, Juan Alberto Ortiz-Orellana, and Minor Perez-Chach face a maximum sentence of life in prison for conspiring to participate in a racketeering enterprise and a mandatory sentence of life in prison for murder in aid of racketeering.

A total of 475 individuals were arrested during this ongoing enforcement effort, most of which were confirmed as gang members and affiliates. The most prominent gangs with arrests during this operation were MS-13 with 274 arrests and the 18th street gang with 15 arrests.  This operation yielded 227 total criminal arrests and 248 administrative arrests.
