Malam Mane Sanha was sentenced May 22 to 36 months imprisonment following a guilty plea for conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism; conspiracy to import cocaine into the United States; conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, specifically the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC); and conspiracy to acquire and transfer anti-aircraft missiles.

The indictment returned this afternoon charges four men, all of Sinaloa, Mexico, with one count of possession with intent to distribute at least 1,000 kilograms of marijuana, a crime that carries a statutory maximum sentence of life imprisonment and mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison: Alejo Garcia-Moreno, 54; Benito Garcia-Moreno, 59, Alejo Garcia-Moreno’s brother; Mario Sainz-Aranzubia, 44, a cousin of Alejo and Benito Garcia-Moreno; and Benny Zazueta-Sainz, 28, Sainz-Aranzubia’s nephew.

Rudy Martinez, 40, fell under suspicion following his involvement in a violent street altercation in the Beach Flats neighborhood of Santa Cruz in July of last year. When investigators searched his residence in July 2012, they discovered methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine, along with an assortment of scales and packaging materials.

Jose Loza, 40, the lead defendant in a 2016 federal grand jury indictment charging 51 Canta Ranas members and associates, was convicted Thursday afternoon of 12 felonies. Canta Ranas is a multi-generational criminal enterprise engaged in murder, attempted murder, assault, extortion, money laundering, and drug distribution.

McAllen, TX
Mario Guadalupe Saenz, 27, of McAllen, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos Oct. 10 where he was formally charged. He was also charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Pedro Lopez-Rocha, a Mexican national who arrived in Southern California on board a marijuana-laden panga-style boat that came ashore north of Malibu in mid-January, has received a nearly six-year prison term.

David Ramiro Cerna Jr., 37, of Moorhead, was sentenced to serve 16 years in prison for aiding and abetting a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamines and marijuana.

More than 100 law enforcement personnel from a dozen federal, state, and local agencies participated in the operation. Overall, investigators served a total of 32 state arrest warrants at 12 locations around the Tucson metropolitan area. Sixteen defendants are now in custody.

Victor Hugo Gonzalez, 36, of Laredo, was sentenced Jan. 22 by visiting U.S. District Judge Janis Graham Jack to 188 months in federal prison, which is to be immediately followed by five years’ supervised release. Gonzalez pleaded guilty to the charges Aug. 25, 2015.

Marcelino Ruiz-Reyes, 37, a citizen of Mexico living in Independence, Missouri, was sentenced to 20 years and eight months in federal prison without parole on various charges, including: participating in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, and participating in a money-laundering conspiracy.

A federal grand jury returned an indictment Tuesday charging two Dallas men with various drug and firearms offenses related to their conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. One of these men is also charged with possessing and distributing heroin that resulted in the drug-overdose deaths this summer of two young women.

Raymond Camacho, aka Jesus Mendoza-Nunez, 58, pleaded guilty last January to possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Juan C. Chavez, 39, will be sentenced to 18 months in prison under the terms of his plea agreement. Co-defendant, David Molinar, 34, also of El Paso, pleaded guilty Aug. 19 in the same case to unlawfully selling drug paraphernalia. Under the terms of his plea agreement, Molinar will be sentenced to 15 months in prison.

According to the investigation, David Saul Salazar, 49, Packwood, Washington, was traveling with Gregorio Capetillo and Luis Parra Magana from Washington state to Minot, North Dakota.  During that trip, Berthold police chief stopped the car and discovered about 10 pounds of methamphetamine and multiple firearms.

A Connecticut man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiring to distribute cocaine.

On Dec. 19, 2014, a federal grand jury returned a three-count sealed indictment charging Tian with importing a controlled substance and manufacturing a controlled substance knowing it would be unlawfully imported into the United States from China. This indictment was unsealed following Tian’s arrest.

Daniel Alvarez, a member of the Partido Revolucionario Mexicano gang, was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in federal prison for conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The prison sentence resulted from an investigation by ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
