3 violent MS-13 gang members in custody following ICE New York City operation
WASHINGTON — Three violent MS-13 members — two of whom illegally entered the United States during the Biden administration — are in Nassau County police custody following a joint Aug. 8 operation between ICE New York City, the Nassau County Police Department and the FBI. Each criminal alien has an extensive criminal record that includes charges such as attempted murder, gang assault and weapon possession.
ICE has lodged immigration detainers against all three gang members and will assume custody when they’re released from the New York justice system.
“America is no longer a dumping ground for foreign criminals and gang members,” said acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons. “ICE will continue to find, arrest and remove MS-13 and other terrorists who come here to wreak havoc on communities and destroy this nation.”
Elias Wilfredo Serrano Bonilla, a 21-year-old criminal alien from El Salvador, illegally entered the U.S. sometime prior to December 2016. On Jan. 8, 2020, the Nassau County Police Department arrested and charged him with first-degree assault and first-degree gang assault. Then, on Aug. 8, 2025, he was arrested and charged with:
- Eight counts of attempted murder.
- First-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon.
- Two counts of first-degree robbery while threatening to use a dangerous instrument.
- First-degree gang assault causing serious physical injury.
- Second-degree conspiracy with intent to perform a Class A felony.
- Seven counts of first-degree attempted assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon.
- Three counts of second-degree robbery causing physical injury.
- Nine counts of second-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon or instrument.
- Third-degree robbery.
- Seven counts of second-degree attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.
- Seven counts of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury.
- Four counts of criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use.
Serrano is currently in Nassau County police custody.
Edras Daniel Velasquez Giron, a 19-year-old criminal alien from Honduras, illegally entered the U.S. before June 2022. On Sept. 28, 2023, an immigration judge in New York ordered him removed to Honduras in absentia. On Aug. 8, he was charged with:
- Six counts of attempted murder.
- First-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon.
- First-degree gang assault causing serious injury.
- Second-degree conspiracy to perform a Class A felony.
- Five counts of first-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon.
- Five counts of second-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon or instrument.
- Five counts of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury.
- Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use it.
Velasquez is currently in Nassau County police custody.
Jeffrey Bladimir Valladares Archaga, a 20-year-old Honduran criminal alien, illegally entered the U.S. in 2022 near Calexico, California. On July 17, Nassau County police arrested and charged him with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (firearm/weapon), third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without a license. He’s currently in Nassau Police custody.
ICE has lodged immigration detainers against each of these MS-13 members with the Nassau County Police Department.
