Convicted North Texas sex offender sentenced to 15 years for child pornography

PLANO, Texas – A 29-year-old man from Frisco, Texas, was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in federal prison for child pornography violations, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales in the Eastern District of Texas. This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant U.S. Attorney Mandy Griffith, Eastern District of Texas, prosecuted this case.

David Duncan pleaded guilty on Nov. 23, 2010 to attempted receipt of child pornography. On Nov. 30, 2011, he was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard Schell to 180 months in federal prison, to be followed by supervised release for the rest of his life.

According to information presented in court, Duncan was being investigated for purchasing access to a website which allowed him to download and possess child pornography images. Duncan is a convicted sex offender, having received probation for a state charge of possessing child pornography in Denton County, Texas.

This investigation was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal alien sex offenders, and child sex traffickers.
