ERO San Francisco arrests foreign fugitive

SAN FRANCISCO — Officers with Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) San Francisco arrested a foreign fugitive wanted in Nicaragua July 26.

The noncitizen has an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the District Court in Leon, Nicaragua, for murder.

The noncitizen entered the United States illegally near the Del Rio-Acuna Port of Entry without inspection, admission or parole July 13, 2022. On the same date U.S. Border Patrol granted the noncitizen parole with Alternatives to Detention enrollment and instructions to report to the ERO office nearest their place of residence.

The District Court of Leon, Nicaragua issued an arrest warrant Aug. 30, 2022, against the noncitizen for the murder of one victim. Officers with ERO in San Francisco, served the fugitive with a notice to appear Oct. 19, 2022. The fugitive was arrested July 26 during an enforcement operation in San Jose.

The fugitive will remain in ERO custody pending the outcome of their removal proceedings.
