ICE arrests 2 NY-area sex offenders during daily enforcement actions
NEW YORK – Officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested two convicted sexual predators Tuesday in the New York metropolitan area.
In the course of normal targeted enforcement activities, ERO officers apprehended two individuals with past criminal sexual offenses. They were taken into custody and are currently being detained pending removal proceedings.
The first, a 27-year-old national of Guyana, has several prior convictions including endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and violating an order of protection. The victim of the crime was a fifteen year old female. He was arrested in Ozone Park, April 25 and has been entered into removal proceedings.
The second is a 53-year-old Haitian man with a prior conviction of endangering the welfare of a minor and sexual abuse prosecuted out of the District Court of Nassau County. The victim of the crime was a thirteen-year-old female. He was arrested in Queens, April 25 and has been entered into removal proceedings.
