ICE arrests Puerto Rican teacher, coach on child exploitation charges
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents, working jointly with Puerto Rico Police Department’s Division of Sexual Crimes in Guayama and the Puerto Rico Department of Justice, arrested Thursday a teacher/coach of the Salinas’s specialized sports school for sexual enticement of a minor and production of child pornography.
Alexander Greaux-Gomez, 39, was arrested at his place of residence in Salinas following an HSI investigation that revealed that he allegedly engaged in criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old female minor.
On Dec. 21, HSI received information from a concerned mother regarding an adult male, later identified as Greaux-Gomez, and his alleged engagement in criminal sexual conduct with a minor. As part of the investigation, HSI secured a federal search warrant Jan. 2 and executed the same Jan. 23. The forensic analysis of Greaux-Gomez’s phone revealed the presence of a sexually explicit image of the minor.
On a separate case, HSI special agents arrested Wednesday Luis Ezequiel Claudio Valle, 21, of Carolina, for transporting a 13-year-old minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual conduct and production of child pornography.
Both men had their initial hearings before a U.S. Magistrate Judge Feb. 9.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ginette L. Milanes is prosecuting the case.
This investigation was conducted under HSI’s Operation Predator, an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators. Since the launch of Operation Predator in 2003, HSI has arrested more than 12,000 individuals for crimes against children, including the production and distribution of online child pornography, traveling overseas for sex with minors, and sex trafficking of children. In fiscal year 2014, more than 2,300 individuals were arrested by HSI special agents under this initiative and more than 1,000 victims identified or rescued.
HSI encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free Tip Line at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or by completing its online tip form.
