ICE HSI Orlando supports NFL Pro Bowl law enforcement efforts

ORLANDO – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) office in Orlando supported the multi-faceted law enforcement efforts during the 2020 National Football League (NFL) Pro Bowl on January 26.

SAC Tampa, HSI Orlando worked in coordination with the NFL, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Orlando Police Department (OPD), the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and the Oviedo Police Department targeting importers of suspected counterfeit merchandise.

HSI Orlando special agents also worked with the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation organized crime section on human trafficking enforcement activities and outreach, as part of January’s Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

In addition to investigative efforts, HSI Orlando partnered with CBP and OPD to ensure a secure and safe environment for all those attending Pro Bowl activities. HSI Orlando agents also assisted OPD with the physical security of the Pro Bowl venue during game time activities.

“HSI Orlando was proud to be a law enforcement partner at the NFL Pro Bowl,” said HSI Orlando Assistant Special Agent in Charge David J. Pezzutti. “The event was an opportunity to focus on several of our investigative initiatives including curtailing the sale of counterfeit goods, target human trafficking crimes and helping secure the entire event.”
