ICE HSI Philadelphia hosts first forum following creation of human trafficking task force

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia hosted Tuesday a first-of-many Human Trafficking Forums. The HSI- led forum was an opportunity to meet with local and federal agencies, law enforcement, and NGOs to discuss strategies and resources available in the fight against human trafficking in the region.

The meeting comes only two weeks after HSI Philadelphia announced Jan. 18, a newly-formed task force to combat human trafficking.

“Today's human trafficking forum was a wonderful experience. The exchange of ideas, expertise, and resources between all of the organizations in attendance was a great first step in nurturing our newly-formed alliance,” said Marlon V. Miller, HSI Philadelphia special agent in charge.

More than 80 stakeholders attended the forum, representing close to 25 agencies from the surrounding Philadelphia region. The all-day event was designed to bring together the expertise, training, experience, and authorities of the partnered agencies to help identify human traffickers, and prosecute them while also protecting and aiding victims.
