ICE, Kingdom of Thailand, Department of Special Investigation sign MOU to combat transnational crime

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Thailand Ministry of Justice’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) August 24, to establish cooperation in combating transnational crime.

ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan and DSI Director General Paisit Wongmuang signed the MOU in a ceremony held at ICE headquarters in Washington, D.C. Additional participants from ICE and DSI were in attendance.

The MOU is focused on the sharing of information and expertise in areas of joint cooperation; particularly in the areas of cyber-crime, fraud, money laundering, illicit trade and bulk cash smuggling, identity and benefit fraud, intellectual property rights, crimes against children, and human smuggling and trafficking. The MOU envisions this cooperation including technical and forensic assistance and other areas of critical law enforcement assistance.
