ICE removes murder suspect to Bahamas

MIAMI – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) removed a man with an outstanding warrant for murder to the The Bahamas on July 13. ERO officers turned him over to proper authorities in The Bahamas.

Jamal Redmond Wallace, 33, a citizen of The Bahamas, was arrested in Tampa by U.S. Border Patrol on March 29, 2017, the day an arrest warrant was issued by Bahamian authorities.

Wallace had entered the United States on Nov. 1, 2013, on a B2 non-immigrant visa for a temporary period not to exceed April 30, 2014. Wallace violated the agreement by remaining in the country past that date. On May 10, 2017, an immigration judge with the Executive Office for Immigration Review ordered Wallace removed from the United States to The Bahamas.

“This removal is evidence that ICE will not allow criminals to hide behind our country’s borders to avoid justice in their home country,” said Marc J. Moore, field office director for the Miami Field Office of ERO.
