Kansas massage parlor operators indicted on federal prostitution charges

WICHITA Kan. — Two people who operated a southern Kansas massage parlor were indicted in federal court Wednesday on charges related to prostitution.

These indictments resulted from an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Wichita, Kansas, Police Department.

Ping Liu, 43, and Xingdi Lin, 48, both of Wichita, Kansas, were charged with one count each of attempting to persuade, induce, entice or coerce an individual to cross state lines to engage in prostitution and one each count of using a telephone in furtherance of prostitution. The crimes are alleged to have occurred March 13 and March 16, 2015 in Sedgwick County, Kansas. The pair ran a business called Q Massage in Wichita.

If convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 20 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the enticement charge and a maximum penalty of five years and a fine up to $250,000 for using a telephone to further the crime.
