Manassas-based small business becomes latest IMAGE member

FAIRFAX, Va. — Manassas-based Titania Solutions Group Inc., a federal services contractor that provides an array of services to government agencies to support national security and other engineering and information technology efforts, became the latest employer to be certified by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) employment compliance program called IMAGE.

A certification ceremony took place Wednesday at ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Washington, D.C. field office in Fairfax.

IMAGE stands for ICE Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers. As part of this agreement, Titania has pledged to maintain a secure and stable workforce and curtail the employment of unauthorized workers through outreach and education.

To qualify for IMAGE certification, companies must perform the following requirements:

  • Enroll in the E-Verify program within 60 days,
  • Establish a written hiring and employment eligibility verification policy that includes internal Form I-9 audits at least once per year and
  • Submit to a Form I-9 inspection.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) E-Verify employment eligibility verification program enables employers to verify that newly hired employees are eligible to work in the United States. This Internet-based system is available throughout the nation and is free to employers. It provides an automated link to the Social Security Administration database and DHS immigration records.

"One of our tag lines is 'dedication to excellence,'" said Jodi Johnson, Titania's president and CEO. "We commit to excellence in our infrastructure, just as we do in the performance of mission services for our important customers.  Our customers and large business partners have many other small business choices  with whom they may work. Our clients and partners need to know that we are squared away in all facets of our operations. Having the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) audit our practices ensures our practices are compliant, and it demonstrates to our partners and employees that our practices are best practices – they can depend on us."

"With this certification, Titania Solutions Group makes a strong statement in support of federal hiring laws," said Scot Rittenberg, deputy special agent in charge of HSI Washington, D.C. "We are proud to welcome them to the IMAGE program as the first Virginia-based company within the critical infrastructure industry."

Titania is a women-, service disabled veteran-owned small business that employs nearly 70 individuals in the northern Virginia area. Incorporated in January 2012, the company provides a range of services, including engineering; knowledge and information management; cyber; operational intelligence and training; and information technology, to federal agencies including the U.S. Army intelligence community, the Defense Information Services Agency, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Labor.
