Mexican national charged with re-entry after multiple deportations

PHILADELPHIA – A Mexican man who was arrested in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) operational surge earlier this month is being federally prosecuted for illegally re-entering the United States after being deported four times.

Jose Alberto Guadalupe-Ascencion, 30, of Norristown, Pennsylvania, was charged by indictment that alleges on or about Dec. 3, 2015, Guadalupe-Ascencion, an alien, and native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about Dec. 3, 2010, Feb. 2, 2012, June 6, 2012, and Sept. 23, 2012.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joan E. Burnes.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of ten years.

An indictment is an accusation.  A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
