MS-13 gang member guilty of transporting a minor to engage in prostitution
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A Gaithersburg, Md., man pleaded guilty to charges of transporting a minor to engage in prostitution following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Washington.
In July 2011, Rene Ulises Quinteros Gaitan, 24, prostituted a 16-year-old juvenile female, first in Frederick, Md., and then in Richmond, Va. Gaitan transported the juvenile victim to Prince George’s County, where he again prostituted her.
Gaitan pleaded guilty to one count of transporting a minor in interstate commerce to engage in prostitution. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and maximum sentence of life in prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for Nov. 22.
