Norristown man arrested for possession, receipt and distribution of child pornography

PHILADEPHIA — A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia investigation led to the arrest of a Norristown man Aug. 19,  on state charges of possession, receipt and distribution of images of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Officers from the Norristown Police Department are assisting in the investigation.

On Aug. 19, Eduardo Angulo Medina, 32, an unlawfully present Peruvian citizen, was encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) attempting to depart the United States via a United Airlines flight to Lima, Peru, at Newark Liberty International Airport. He was arrested by CBP and turned over to Port Authority Police (PAPD) for extradition on a felony arrest warrant obtained by Norristown Police Department. He is currently in PAPD custody.

In September 2016, a search warrant was executed at his residence by HSI Philadelphia special agents and the Norristown Police Department which resulted in the seizure of electronic and documentary evidence.  Subsequent analysis of the evidence developed sufficient probable cause for issuance of the felony arrest warrant.
