Pennsylvania man arrested for attempting to engage in illicit sexual contact with minors in the Philippines

PHILADELPHIA — A Troy, Pennsylvania man was arrested Jan. 7, as he attempted to board an international flight from Philadelphia International Airport to the Philippines, to engage in illicit sexual contact with minors, following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia.  

HSI Philadelphia was alerted by HSI Portland, Maine, that Jack Russel Bristol, 61, scheduled to travel from Philadelphia to the Philippines for the purposes of the sexual abuse of minor children. On Jan. 7, 2018, HSI Philadelphia executed federal search warrant and subsequently arrested Bristol.

“Disrupting, dismantling, and arresting on-line predators, who prey on children is a top priority for HSI,” said Marlon V. Miller, special agent in charge of HSI Philadelphia. “HSI will use every available resource, and continue to work with our local, state, federal, and international partners to ensure child predators are brought to Justice.”

This investigation is in collaboration with HSI Portland, Maine, Operation Corregidor which focuses specifically on the live webcam streaming of child sexual exploitation in the Philippines, and HSI’s Operation Predator, an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators.

Both are staffed around the clock by investigators. From outside the U.S. and Canada, callers should dial 802-872-6199. Hearing impaired users can call TTY 802-872-6196.

Suspected child sexual exploitation or missing children may be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an Operation Predator partner, via its toll-free 24-hour hotline, 1-800-THE-LOST.
