Pennsylvania man charged with possession of child pornography

PHILADELPHIA — A Northampton County, Pennsylvania, man was charged Tuesday by indictment with one count of possession of child pornography, following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

If convicted, Jeffrey Curtis Drexler, 27, faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment, with a 10-year minimum mandatory term of incarceration, a $250,000 fine, five years up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

This investigation was conducted under HSI’s Operation Predator, an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators. Since the launch of Operation Predator in 2003, HSI has arrested more than 14,000 individuals for crimes against children, including the production and distribution of online child pornography, traveling overseas for sex with minors, and sex trafficking of children. In fiscal year 2015, nearly 2,400 individuals were arrested by HSI special agents under this initiative and more than 1,000 victims identified or rescued.
