South Carolina man pleads guilty to creating fake Facebook profiles to coerce 6 Colorado girls into taking and sending him sexually explicit photographs

DENVER — A man from South Carolina pleaded guilty Thursday before U.S. District Court Judge R. Brooke Jackson to six counts of coercing and enticing a minor.

This guilty plea was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer, District of Colorado, and Special Agent in Charge David A. Thompson, of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Denver.

Christopher George White, 37, of McCormick, South Carolina, who is in custody, is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Jackson Dec. 14.  White’s crimes include using social media, texts and telephone calls to meet, entice, and then threaten minors into taking off clothing or committing sex acts for his own personal pleasure.

According to the stipulated facts contained in the plea agreement, between June 30 and Aug. 4, 2014, White, targeted child victims 13 and 14 years of age by using the Facebook profiles “Kent Noelle” and “Glenn Black.”  Although White claimed to be a teenage boy, he was truly a 35-year-old man and a previously convicted sex offender.  White used those Facebook profiles and the telephone number 864-602-1614 to correspond with minor girls, including the six minor girls from Colorado.  He first befriended the girls online.  Then he texted and even talked with the minors by phone.  To coerce the girls to produce and send him child pornography of themselves, White then began to harass, threaten them with physical harm, and threaten to post sexually explicit photographs of the girls or their friends on social media.

White faces not less than 10 years, and up to life in federal prison, as well as up to a $250,000 fine for each of the six counts of coercing and enticing a minor.  He will also be required to register as a sex offender once released from prison.

There may be more minor victims of White.  If you believe you or your child has been victimized by White via Facebook profiles of “Kent Noelle” and “Glenn Black,” call HSI toll free at 866-347-2423.

This case was investigated by HSI and the Larimer County (Colorado) Sheriff’s Office.

White is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Tonini, District of Colorado.

This investigation was conducted under HSI’s Operation Predator, an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators. Since the launch of Operation Predator in 2003, HSI has arrested more than 14,000 individuals for crimes against children, including the production and distribution of online child pornography, traveling overseas for sex with minors, and sex trafficking of children. In fiscal year 2015, nearly 2,400 individuals were arrested by HSI special agents under this initiative and more than 1,000 victims identified or rescued.

HSI encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free Tip Line at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or by completing its online tip form.
