An investigation by ICE Homeland Security Investigations New York, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Chicago and federal partners, resulted in the unsealing of an indictment charging Naasón Joaquín García, Rosa Sosa, Azalia Rangel García, Eva García De Joaquín, Joram Núñez Joaquín and Silem García Peña with sexual, financial and related criminal conduct victimizing members of the La Luz del Mundo Church over many years.

ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents arrested Felix Ebdiel Muñiz-Rivera, 20, of Camuy, for producing and possessing child sexual abuse material Aug. 29.

An investigation by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations New England led to the Aug. 6 arrest of Connor McAuliffe, a 34-year-old emergency medical technician, for allegedly receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Matthew Ozol, 39, of Jersey City, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography at the U.S. District Court in Newark. HSI Newark executed a search warrant at Ozol’s residence and recovered at least 26 images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

HSI personnel arrested Dennis Costa, 66, on July 29 at his residence in Fall River.

HSI personnel arrested Eynar Estuardo Vielman Jimenez, 38, on Aug. 2 in West Roxbury.

ICE agencies in Newark arrested an additional four illegally present child predators since July 21, making a total of eight arrests in an ongoing effort targeting illegal aliens with histories of child exploitation.

Jesus Lopez Jr., 35, participated and recorded multiple sexually explicit acts with the child. He faces between five and 15 years in prison and at least five years of supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations Newark, alongside partners from Enforcement and Removal Operations, Newark arrested four illegally present child predators over the course of as many days in connection with an ongoing effort targeting illegal aliens with histories of child exploitation, titled “Operation Apex Predator.”

A south Texas man was sentenced to 20 years for possessing images of sexual assaults of prepubescent children following an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations Rio Grande Valley Child Exploitation Task Force with assistance from U.S. Border Patrol, Raymondville Police Department and Willacy County Sheriff’s Office.

ICE's HSI special agents arrested Aneudy Jazzan Pérez-Santiago, a 30-year-old teacher from Carolina, on criminal charges related to child exploitation.

On July 10, ICE's HSI special agents arrested Lizamarie Rivera-García, a 42-year-old woman from Bayamón, charged with sex trafficking of children.

David Guzman, 44, from San Antonio was sentenced July 17 by a federal judge to 210 months in prison for receipt of child pornography.

ICE HSI personnel, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Cordova, 54, on July 10 at his residence in Everett, Massachusetts, for immigration violations.

ICE HSI personnel arrested Jose Alberto Rojop Cajas, a Level 1 registered sex offender, on July 9 in Middleton, Massachusetts, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Josue Santiago Perez Gomez, 29, was taken into ICE custody on July 12, one day after he was arrested by local authorities in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, on charges of patronizing a minor for commercial sex, indecent solicitation of a child, and procurement of sexual conduct for a fee.

An investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement led to the sentencing of Mark Rice, 38, to 30 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release, for producing and distributing child sexual abuse material.

A tip from the Department of Homeland Security’s Cyber Crimes Center led to the May 29 arrest of Rafael Romeiro Rodriguez, a dangerous child sex offender, as he was attempting to travel internationally.

ORH III, conducted from Feb. 24 through March 7, builds on the success of the first two phases of the initiative which previously led to the identification and rescue of over 300 exploited children. With this third iteration, the cumulative victim count now surpasses 450, a chilling yet vital reminder of the scope the ongoing threat of online sexual exploitation poses to children.

Raul Velasco-Leon, 39, plead guilty to transporting child sexual abuse material on June 17.

Anthony James Deason, 29, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison followed by eight years of supervised release for one count of attempted receipt of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.

John Mangan, 78, of Lanoka Harbor, pleaded guilty June 10 to an information charging him with one count of possession of child pornography at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Trenton.

Edgar Javier Escobedo Castillo, an 18-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was criminally arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material.

In February 2025, the Department of Homeland Security and its federal and state partners launched a national child welfare initiative to locate and verify these at-risk kids’ safety.

ICE removed Oscar Lopez Delira, a 47-year-old three-time removed criminal alien and convicted child predator, to his home country of Mexico May 27.
