GREELEY, Colo. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and Greeley Police Department officers arrested or identified nine gang members during a Saturday operation targeting illegal aliens with ties to violent street gangs throughout Weld County. This is the latest joint local action of an ongoing national ICE effort to target foreign-born gang members.

The multi-agency June 20 operation targeted foreign-born gang members in Greeley and other Weld County areas.

OMAHA, Neb. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, in close partnership with the Omaha Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), seized 69 firearms during an investigation that culminated Tuesday with the arrest of 36 gang members and gang associates. This is the latest joint local action of ICE's ongoing national efforts to target transnational gang members and stop the illicit flow of U.S. weapons to Mexico.

All 36 were arrested in Omaha and Lincoln, Neb., June 2 and have been identified as gang members or gang associates.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - A Las Cruces man, wanted for murder and attempted murder by the El Paso Police Department in connection with the shooting of two individuals, was arrested on Thursday by members of the Las Cruces Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST), Las Cruces METRO Narcotics Task Force, and the Las Cruces Police Department. One of the victims died as a result of the shooting and the other was hospitalized.

It is alleged that on or about May 25, Omar Gomez, 23, met with the victims in their vehicle.

NEW YORK - A native and citizen of Jamaica who was a criminal alien fugitive and the target of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigation was sentenced on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of New York for failing to comply with immigration regulations and requirements.
