In October 2020, DHS launched the Center for Countering Human Trafficking (CCHT), which capitalizes on HSI’s operational expertise human trafficking and forced labor investigations and promotes a whole-of-government approach to combating these crimes. The HSI-led CCHT brings together subject matter experts who lead efforts to coordinate and expand investigations; increase public outreach awareness and effectiveness; support victim assistance programs; provide specialized training; and increase partnerships with other government agencies, private sector industry and non-government organizations.
