2025 National Detention Standards

National Detention Standards (NDS) 2025 to aligns with Executive Order, “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to The Federal Government.” Accordingly, references to gender have been replaced with sex throughout the standards. Minor edits have also been made to sections referencing language access and other technical edits have been made to align with current ICE organizational structure, the Performance Based National Detention Standards 2016 (Specifically, Significant Self-Harm and Suicide Prevention and Intervention), and with ICE’s recently issued Non-Dedicated Intergovernmental Service Agreement Standards (issued on March 26, 2025).
